Cardiac arrest is a frequent event, associated with high mortality and a high risk of persistent neurological damage in survivors. To improve the outcome of patients who suffer cardiac arrest, it is necessary that this situation is identified immediately and that resuscitation measures begin promptly and be effective.
The BLSD course therefore has the main objective of acquiring the cognitive and methodological tools and skills necessary to recognize cardiac arrest early and promptly initiate resuscitation maneuvers, in order to improve patient survival and reduce neurological damage resulting from cardiac arrest. hypoxia.
AIMS OF THE COURSE:
- Acquire and summarize knowledge relating to the treatment of arrest
cardiocirculatory system with external semi-automatic defibrillator according to the guidelines of the Italian Resuscitation Council; - Know how to recognize cardiocirculatory arrest;
- Know how to manage an emergency team in the event of cardiocirculatory arrest;
- Know how to implement the maneuvers and protocols for treatment with a semi-automatic defibrillator of cardiac arrest (ventricular fibrillation/pulseless ventricular tachycardia);
- Be able to recognize the resumption of circulation;
- Be able to position the patient in a safe lateral position and
understand its purpose; acquire self-control skills in response to critical situations;
